Emergency Kit

Fireplace Maintenance

One thing that every home should have is an emergency kit.  You never know when you might need it, especially in the winter during snow/ice storms.  Start with finding a waterproof tote to store all your supplies.  As you collect the items, place them in the tote.  Make sure to check your supplies twice a year to make sure those with expiry dates have not expired.  Here are just some of the items that you should have in your emergency kit:

  • Battery powered or hand crank radio
  • flashlight or lantern
  • batteries
  • first aid supplies
  • phone charger
  • candles and matches
  • non-perishable food
  • bottled water
  • pet supplies (if needed)
  • toiletries
  • blankets
