The Town of Orangeville lies within the southernmost point of Dufferin County, located only 30 minutes North of Brampton Ontario making it a great place to call home for commuters. Dufferin County consists of 8 municipalities including 4 Townships; Amaranth, East Garafraxa, Melancthon and Mulmur and 4 Towns; Grand Valley, Mono, Orangeville and Shelburne.

Orangeville offers a host of services and events that many of the surrounding townships and towns rely on. From Healthcare, to shopping and everything in between Orangeville provides a great place to live and play.

Our hospital, Headwaters Health Care Centre is located at the intersection of Hwy 9 & 10. It offers inpatient and outpatient services and an Emergency Department with coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week There are also numerous health care providers and specialists at both the hospital and local clinics.

Orangeville’s got you covered when it comes to shopping to. Along with many of the large box stores Orangeville is fortunate to have the added charm of a historic downtown which offers specialty shops, restaurants, it’s very own Theatre Orangeville and their famous tree sculptures. Orangeville hosts a magnitude of festivals and events throughout the year including a year round farmers market, Ribfest, Blues and Jazz Festival, Headwaters Art Festival, Moonlight Magic and Christmas in the Park to name a few.

There are 36 hectares of parkland, trails and sports fields and exceptional sports programs through 2 sports facilities, Alder Street Recreation and Tony Rose Memorial Sports Centre. You’ll also find a Skate Park, a BMX track, 2 splash pads, and outdoor ice rinks. Orangeville borders Island Lake Conservation Area and is minutes from Hockley Valley Resort, Teen Ranch and is located within 30 minutes to numerous golf courses.

Orangeville is home to 3 school boards; The Upper Grand District School Board for the public schools, Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board and Counseil Scolair de Distrct Centre Sud Ouest for the French schools. Orangeville is also fortunate to have Satellite campuses to both Humber and Georgian Colleges which provides an option to do post secondary close to home . Many families that live in Orangeville commute to other city centres but there are a multitude of local businesses offering local employment opportunities. Much of Orangeville is accessible by Orangeville Transit and for those who prefer not to make the commute by car, there is weekday Go Transit service available. To access the city, the most direct route is 20 minutes straight down highway 10 to the 410

The Orangeville Banner and the Orangeville Citizen are Orangeville’s local newspapers, they are both distributed free to local residents every Thursday throughout the year.

A couple of years ago, Orangeville acquired it’s very own radio station, 101.5 My FM a great resource for local news, events and entertainment.
